Trevor Siemian will have an MRI on his ankle Tuesday morning, but the injury sure didn’t look good. Sam Darnold is already out with mono, possibly until late October. That leaves Luke Falk, who made his NFL debut on Monday night, as the only quarterback on the roster.

So yes, the Jets need help at quarterback and they need it quickly.

Unfortunately, quarterbacks aren’t exactly easy to find.

That almost certainly means the 24-year-old Falk will start for the Jets in New England on Sunday, and he could end up being the starter for the foreseeable future. The Jets will have a bye week after the Patriots game, which could give them a chance to reevaluate their options. But there won’t be many. And most of them aren’t good.

Here are some of the names on the market who could be short-term solutions if it turns out Siemian is out for a while, and the Jets still don’t know when Darnold will be back:

Brock Osweiler

The 6-foot-7 veteran has a long history with Gase, who was on the Denver Broncos staff when they picked him in the second round of the 2012 draft. They were also reunited last season in Miami, where Osweiler started five games for Gase’s Dolphins. Of course, he wasn’t particularly good (a completion percentage of 63.5, 1,247 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions). But at least he knows the Gase offense.

Davis Webb

The former heir-apparent to Eli Manning was with the Jets this summer, but was beaten out for the third-string job by Falk. He’s now on the Buffalo Bills practice squad, but he could be plucked off that easy enough. He’s never played in an NFL game, but again, he knows the Gase offense, at least a little.

Cody Kessler

He was a decent starter when he was with the Browns in 2016, and again with the Jaguars for four games last season. He was battling for the backup job in Philadelphia this summer until he suffered a concussion in the second preseason game. If he’s healthy, the 26-year-old could get the Jets through a few weeks.

Sam Bradford

The days as a regular starter are over for the 31-year-old former No. 1 overall pick, but the Jets could do a lot worse to get them through until Darnold returns. Bradford has 83 starts under his belt and was terrific just three years ago as a starter in Minnesota. He lost his job to first-round pick Josh Rosen in Arizona last year. Injuries are his main issue, but the Jets only need a few weeks.

Jay Cutler

Gase lured the former Chicago Bear out of retirement in 2017, when he played 14 games and gave a decent performance. When the season was over, Cutler didn’t officially retire and he said he’d consider playing again if he was offered a starting job. That was two years ago and he’s 36, but these are desperate times.
