LAS VEGAS – Wednesday’s debate here was the feistiest of the campaign, but its impact on Saturday’s result will be limited. More than 75,000 Nevada Democrats had already cast early ballots before the debate began — a figure that is close to the total 2016 caucus turnout. Nobody is sure how many more people will caucus in person.
Reliable Nevada polling is scarce, but Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont — a top performer in Iowa and New Hampshire — is widely presumed to do well here, based on his strength among Latino voters and his organizational advantages in the state. More closely watched is the race for second place.
When the caucuses beginSaturday, Feb. 22, 3 p.m. Eastern time.
