Time for the blockades to come down says Justin Trudeau

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says after two weeks, the barricades on rail lines and other major transportation routes have to come down.
Speaking in Ottawa today, Trudeau says the situation is unacceptable and untenable, with goods not moving and workers being laid off.
The issue began over a natural gas pipeline in British Columbia, it has since turned into a broader question about Indigenous rights in Canada. Demonstrations and blockades have been set up by Indigenous protesters in support of Wet’suwet’en first nation hereditary Chiefs.
Trudeau says he is still willing to have productive discussions, but at this point action needs to be taken because too many Canadians are being impacted by the blockades. When asked if his announcement gives way for police to enforce the law, Trudeau said he is hopeful that the leadership within these Indigenous communities will find a way to bring down the barricades peacefully.
