Teen shot, critically wounded in West Rogers Park

A 17-year-old boy was critically wounded when he was shot Monday in West Rogers Park on the North Side.
He was walking about 5:47 p.m. in the 2300 block of West Jarvis Avenue when someone approached him and opened fire, Chicago police said. The teen was hit in the arm, chest and abdomen.
He was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
Area North detectives are investigating.
The teen’s shooting comes after a weekend where 11 children were wounded by gunfire across the city.
