Ex-Steeler Antwaan Randle El’s brother charged with double homicide

The brother of former Pittsburgh Steeler Antwaan Randle El surrendered to cops over the weekend in connection to the shooting deaths of two women in Wisconsin, authorities said.

Marcus Randle El, 33 — who also played football at the University of Wisconsin — turned himself over to Chicago cops Saturday and faces two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, authorities said at a press conference.

A passing motorist found Seairaha Winchester, 30, and Brittany McAdory, 27, suffering from several gunshot wounds in the southern Wisconsin city of Janesville on Feb. 10. They were rushed to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Investigators believe Randle El stole the women’s SUV after the shootings and ditched it along I-294 near Justice, Illinois — about 30 miles northwest of his hometown in Homewood, Illinois, The Janesville Gazette reported.

Video from early that morning at a TA Express gas station shows two victims leaving in the SUV, Janesville Lt. Charles Aagaard told reporters at a news conference. The investigation revealed that Randle El was in the area at the time and planned to meet them, according to Aagaard.

Police have said that Randle El and the two women knew each other, but did not give further details, the Gazette reported.

Though he turned himself in, Randle El has not confessed to the killings, according to the report.

He will be extradited back to Wisconsin as authorities work to determine a motive for the murders.

“Because it’s ongoing, we do have a good framework for that and we’d like to continue investigating that to determine what that is,” Aagaard said, according to WKOW.

Randle El played wide receiver for the Wisconsin Badgers from 2004 to 2007. He was busted for battery in 2005 after an argument with a woman on campus, and again later that year for punching a teammate, WMTV reported. He was sentenced to 18 months of probation and ordered to complete an anger management course.

At the time of the two murders, Randle El was out on parole after serving time for a 2014 incident in which he abducted his daughter at gunpoint, according to the station.

Antwaan Randle El spent nine years with the NFL, including as a star receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is currently a member of the coaching staff for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
