Greg Olsen’s TV career is back on hold.
The former Carolina Panthers tight end is signing a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks for a reported $7 million, including $5.5 million guaranteed.
After parting ways with Carolina — Olsen later disputed the team characterizing it as a “mutual” agreement — the 34-year-old visited with the Buffalo Bills and Washington Redskins before ultimately landing in Seattle.
With the Seahawks, he’ll be paired up with quarterback Russell Wilson, who should help increase Olsen’s 59 career touchdowns — if the oft-injured New Jersey native can stay healthy. He has missed 18 games over the last three seasons battling injuries.
Olsen, a veteran of 13 NFL seasons, has also found success in the broadcast booth, trying his hand at analysis for NFL and XFL games, and is expected to be a hot commodity when he finally hangs up his shoulder pads. It’s a career transition that will have to wait until at least 2021.
