Ex-Patriot Logan Ryan gets last laugh with pick-six interception

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Logan Ryan, the former Patriots safety who’s now with the Titans, couldn’t help himself after Tennessee upset his former team in Saturday night’s AFC wild-card game, 20-13, at Gillette Stadium.

Ryan, who played with the Patriots from 2013-16 before joining the Titans, was rattled by some comments made by New England linebacker Kyle Van Noy, who told reporters during the week, “We have a chance to go on a revenge tour, and what better way to start off than with Tennessee, who we lost to last year.’’

Ryan, who picked off Tom Brady in the final seconds and returned it for a game-sealing touchdown, couldn’t wait to unload on Van Noy.

“My guy Kyle Van Noy calling it a ‘revenge tour’ … just play ball, Kyle,’’ Ryan said. “Tom Brady doesn’t do that. Julian Edelman doesn’t do that, [Devin] McCourty, ‘Gilly-lock’ [cornerback Stephon Gilmore] don’t do that. Kyle Van Noy was running his mouth, giving us bulletin-board material about his ‘revenge tour.’ Well, his ‘revenge tour’ ended early.’’

Ironically, Patriots coach Bill Belichick has trained his players not to provide bulletin-board fodder for opponents.

“I’m sure I’ll hear something in the group chat about this from my guys over there [with the Patriots] about this,’’ Ryan said. “But Dev [Devin McCourty], Duron [Harmon], J Mac [Jason McCourty], I had to say it — my man Van Noy’s been trippin’ and his ‘revenge tour’ ended early. I hope he enjoys it.’’
