Dodgers’ Ross Stripling not opposed to throwing at cheating Astros

Count Dodgers hurler Ross Stripling among those in the MLB ranks who aren’t happy.

The 30-year-old righty, a member of the 2017 Los Angeles squad that fell to the now-asterisked World Series champion Astros, said he would consider taking retribution against members of that Houston team in the form of a beanball.

“I would lean towards yes,” he told reporters Friday. “In the right time and the right place.”

Stripling isn’t alone in wanting some form of justice. Players throughout baseball have thrown vitriol toward the Astros despite MLB commissioner Rob Manfred’s hefty sanctions, including suspensions for GM Jeff Luhnow and manager A.J. Hinch, though no punishments were levied against players. Houston owner Jim Crane, along with second baseman Jose Altuve and third baseman Alex Bregman, offered sanitized versions of apologies Thursday.

The Yankees and Dodgers have been among the most vocal critics, both having lost to Houston in 2017.
