Saquon Barkley appeared to be seriously hurt in the second quarter Sunday in Tampa, exiting the game with a limp and needing help to get to the locker room.
Barkley was ruled out of the game at the beginning of the second half, the Giants announced.
The 22-year-old superstar was later seen on the sideline on crutches, with a boot on his right foot. The exact injury has yet to be announced.
Barkley had eight carries for 10 yards and four catches for 27 yards when he departed.
The injury happened as rookie Daniel Jones, in his first career start, gave the Giants’ offense a shot in the arm, scoring 10 points on its first two drives.
