Nickelback announces summer tour celebrating 15th anniversary of album

We’ve been looking at that “Photograph” for 15 years.

Canadian rock band Nickelback is celebrating the anniversary of their album “All the Right Reasons” — which featured the meme-ified single “Photograph” — with a 2020 summer tour.

The band — comprising brothers Chad and Mike Kroeger, 45 and 47, Ryan Peake, 46, and Daniel Adair, 44 — kicks off its “All the Right Reasons” tour June 19.

“When we made ‘All the Right Reasons,’ it was special for us, but we didn’t know what it would mean to the fans,” Chad told People. “Sometimes fate intervenes, and when this album was released, we had no idea it would connect with people in such a huge way.”

Nickelback formed in 1995 and, after mostly being a cover band, made it big with the release of the single “How You Remind Me” in 2001. It appeared on the album “Silver Side Up,” ominously released on Sept. 11, 2001, but went on to top the Billboard Hot 100 in 2002. “All the Right Reasons,” released in 2005, is the band’s best-selling album, with an astonishing 12 million copies sold.

For as many records as the band sold, it was just as mocked. Nickelback was crowned the second-worst band of the ’90s — behind only Creed — by readers of Rolling Stone magazine.

Nevertheless, the band has carried on, releasing new albums as recently as 2017’s “Feed the Machine.”

The upcoming tour, which includes dates in Syracuse, New York, and Camden, New Jersey, will feature hits including “Photograph,” “Rockstar,” “Far Away” and “Savin’ Me,” plus, if fans are lucky, some of the oldies. Presales begin on Wednesday at 10 a.m. on the band’s website.

“At this point, the songs don’t really feel like they belong to us anymore,” Chad said. “They belong to everyone that has made them a part of their life. We can’t wait to get on the road this summer and play songs that we have never performed live before as well as songs that have been staples of our live show.”
