NFL playoff picks: Titans will be heading to the Super Bowl

Dave Tuley, senior reporter at VSiN.com, is in his second season with the Post’s Bettor’s Guide. His handicapping pieces appear in VSiN’s online magazine, Point Spread Weekly.

Tennessee Titans (+7) over KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: After running over the defending-champion Patriots and the No. 1-seeded Ravens, I see no reason why the Titans can’t do the same to the Chiefs, whom they already beat, 35-32, on Nov. 10. In that game, Derrick Henry ran for 188 yards and two touchdowns while Ryan Tannehill passed for 181 yards (more than he’s had to pass for in the past two playoff wins combined) and another two touchdowns.

I haven’t seen anything to make me think the Chiefs can shut down Henry, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Tennessee coach Mike Vrabel open up the offense more with Tannehill off play-action. On the other side of the ball, I don’t think the Titans are getting the credit they deserve for holding the Patriots to 13 points and the Ravens to 12. Obviously, the Chiefs’ weapons are faster than the other teams’ and Patrick Mahomes can throw into tiny windows, but expect some wrinkles from Vrabel (a Bill Belichick disciple), too.

Green Bay Packers-SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS Over 46: It’s tempting to take Aaron Rodgers +7¹/₂ as the line has ticked up from the opener of seven, but I’ve felt all season that the Packers were a mirror image of the Vikings, so I feel this line is short and fear we’ll see a similar result to last week when the 49ers dominated the Vikings, 27-10, and a similar result to the 38-7 beating the 49ers gave the Packers when they visited Nov. 24. The Packers probably will play better and close the gap, but I’m not sure they can keep within one score. Instead, I’m going Over 46 points as the better bet, as I expect both offenses to have success and the 49ers to win comfortably.

Last week: 1-1. Titans (W). Texans (L).
Season: 19-18-1.
