Does your child have what it takes to be the cherubic face of Gerber?
For the 10th year in a row, the childhood nutrition giant is searching for its national “spokesbaby.”
“Parents or legal guardians of children from birth to 48 months are encouraged to submit their little one’s photo and story on Gerber’s online submission portal for a chance to have their child serve as a Gerber ambassador for the year,” the company said.
A grand prize of $25,000 is included.
“As we celebrate our 10th anniversary of Photo Search, we’re extremely proud to look back on all of the babies that we’ve celebrated and to continue Gerber’s longstanding heritage of recognizing that every baby is a Gerber baby,” Gerber chief Bill Partyka said in a news release.
“We always strive to make each year of Photo Search bigger and better than the last, and we encourage families all over the country to submit their little ones for a chance to be a part of this special year with us.”
Your baby will be judged on the following criteria: visual appeal, expressiveness and consistency with Gerber’s heritage and its “Anything For Baby” mission.
The search contest ends Feb. 21 and can be entered at the Gerber website.
By the way, the original Gerber baby celebrated her 93rd birthday in November.
Ann Turner Cook was only 4 months old in 1927 when a family friend made a charcoal drawing of the angelic-looking child from Tampa Bay, Fla., and entered it in a Gerber contest.
In 1931, the company trademarked the drawing.
