As classy as can be.
Eli Manning gave Daniel Jones a fist-bump on the sidelines after the rookie scored his first touchdown — a 7-yard carry in the second quarter to cap a 70-yard Giants drive in Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers.
Jones’ first passing touchdown came off a 75-yard play by Evan Engram in the third quarter.
The 38-year-old Manning, sporting a white Giants baseball cap, was benched Tuesday for Jones, the Giants’ first-round pick in this year’s NFL draft.
“Obviously, disappointed,” Manning said last week, “not happy, about it. But you accept it and make the best of it.”
The changing of the quarterback guard came with the Giants 0-2, and Manning struggling to jump start the offense.
Jones finished 4-of-5 for 53 yards on the opening drive of his first start, and Aldrick Rosas hit a 36-yard field goal to get the Giants on the board.
Jones, 22, relieved Manning in garbage time of a Week 1 loss to the Cowboys, and went 3-of-4 for 17 yards with a fumble.
