It’s the end of summer: that means no more white jeans and no more “Bachelor in Paradise.”
The show’s season six finale aired Tuesday night.
This season of “Paradise” brought firsts and fists to the beach in Sayulita, Mexico: Demi Burnett and Kristian Haggerty’s relationship marked the first out LGBTQ couple in franchise history, while Jordan Kimball and Christian Estrada’s epic tumble over a piñata got them both kicked off the show for violence.
In true “Bachelor” fashion, Tuesday’s action-packed finale was full of breakups, engagements (Neil Lane bling!), confrontations and spinoffs — including the announcement of Peter Weber as “The Bachelor” season 24’s leading man.
The main lesson from this season: What happens at Stagecoach doesn’t stay at Stagecoach.
Here is everything that went down.
Clay Harbor, 32, and Nicole Lopez-Alvar, 26
Nicole Lopez-Alvar knew there was trouble in her relationship when Clay Harbor did not want to spend a night in the Fantasy Suite together.
“If I’m not 100 percent sure of myself, how am I gonna ask you to uproot your life and live with me?” Harbor told Lopez-Alvar . Not sure he was ready to propose, Harbor chose to spend the night alone to think about the future of their relationship. Lopez-Alvar was blindsided by his doubts.
When it came down to their moment on the sand, Lopez-Alvar professed her love for her boyfriend. “I’ve truly loved you from the moment we first kissed,” she told Harbor.
Harbor wasn’t there yet.
“I want you, I do,” he said — but as his girlfriend, not fiancée. “I see myself falling in love with you.”
Lopez-Alvar ended it right there: “I can’t tell people we’re together knowing you don’t love me back,” she said.
Neither Harbor nor Lopez-Alvar appeared on the studio reunion segment of the show.
Katie Morton, 26, and Chris Bukowski, 32
It looked like Chris Bukowski could finally retire from “The Bachelor.” The longtime contestant — he’s appeared on six different franchise shows — got engaged on the beach.
“Looking at you I know that I can picture a life with you, and tomorrow I know I want to be with you,” Katie Morton said to Bukowski, holding his hands on the sand.
He was equally smitten with Morton. “I just feel like I’m the luckiest man in the world right now,” he said, holding back tears. “Everything that I’ve been looking for, fighting for, searching for, aimlessly, is in this moment.”
The “Paradise elder” then popped the question to his gal. She said yes.
In the studio, Morton’s attitude changed. Though they’re still engaged (she wasn’t wearing her ring), she says that she’s “exhausted” — and frustrated with Bukowski’s lack of communication and reciprocated effort. “I fell in love with potential that may never come to fruition,” she said.
Bukowski agreed, though he was taken aback by Morton’s words. At the end of their tearful convo, she put her ring back on.
Dylan Barbour, 25, and Hannah Godwin, 24
When Dylan Barbour came to “Paradise” he only had eyes for Hannah Godwin. After testing her options with other men, Godwin finally fell for Barbour.
“I could never love anyone as much as I love you,” Barbour told Godwin on the beach patio.
“I am so ready to make you my priority, but my biggest thing with that is that I’ve been burned in the past,” said Godwin, referencing her failed relationship with Colton Underwood. After Barbour promised to board a plane to meet her family and start their lives together, he got down on one knee.
“Hannah, will you marry me?” he asked.
“Wait, I’m shakey,” she said, before answering yes.
In the studio, the couple revealed that they are still together — Godwin is moving to California to be with Barbour.
Demi Burnett, 24, and Kristian Haggerty, 27
Though Demi Burnett fell for Derek Peth when they met in Mexico, she couldn’t get her back-home girlfriend, Kristian Haggerty, out of her head. Producers then brought Haggerty onto the show so Burnett, a fan favorite, could have her love story.
“No matter how many times I’ve tried to push her away, Kristian hasn’t gone anywhere,” said Burnett. “I just know I can’t ever see myself without her.”
“Demi, I’m in love with you and I give you my full heart, and I promise to protect yours now and forever,” Haggerty said to her girlfriend.
“I came here to find myself, but I found myself in you,” Burnett replied, before she got down on one knee and proposed. Of course, Haggerty said yes.
In conversation with host Chris Harrison in the studio, the groundbreaking couple was still happily together. Haggerty even proposed to Burnett so she could have a ring of her own.
John Paul Jones, 24, and Tayshia Adams, 28
When John Paul Jones and Tayshia Adams broke up on last week’s episode, the heartbreak didn’t last long.
“We had a whirlwind romance, and I think it took me by surprise,” Adams told host Chris Harrison, admitting that dumping him was a mistake.
After the show ended, she decided to go after John Paul Jones and flew to Maryland to profess her love to him. “I thought about you every day since I left,” Adams told Jones in a clip from that trip. The two decided to get back together.
Back in the studio, they shared a big smooch. In true JPJ fashion, he got down on one knee — to recite a love poem to Adams.
